What is Lista USD?
Helio Protocol was an open-source liquidity protocol launched on BNB Chain in August 2022. Its principal asset, HAY, was described as a BNB-backed, over-collateralized destablecoin rather than a conventional fiat-backed stablecoin. Helio later evolved into Lista DAO, whose current native decentralized stablecoin is lisUSD; this record therefore documents HAY as the historical Helio asset and lisUSD as the current product lineage.
HAY used decentralized crypto collateral—initially BNB and liquid-staked BNB—rather than bank deposits or centrally issued fiat assets. It targeted broad stability around $1 while allowing market fluctuations instead of promising an absolute USD peg. HAY launched as a BEP-20 token on BNB Smart Chain.
Lista’s current website describes a permissionless CDP and liquid-staking protocol operating on BNB Chain and Ethereum, with BNB, ETH, slisBNB and wBETH among supported collateral assets.
What problem does Lista USD solve?
Helio targeted the trade-off between centralized fiat-backed stablecoins and volatile crypto assets. Fiat-backed coins depend on custodians and centralized reserves; crypto-backed systems can be decentralized but may use collateral inefficiently. HAY sought decentralized collateral, over-collateralization and improved capital efficiency through liquid staking and yield-bearing collateral.
Helio also used the destablecoin label to communicate that HAY could fluctuate and de-peg, unlike an absolute fixed-dollar promise. Users remained exposed to BNB price volatility, liquidation, oracle and smart-contract risks.
How does Lista USD work?
Users deposited BNB (and originally liquid-staked BNB through Helio’s CeVault) as collateral, then borrowed/minted HAY through smart contracts. The initial maximum LTV was approximately 66% (about 152% collateralization); if collateral value fell and LTV exceeded the limit, liquidation could be triggered. Borrowers repaid HAY plus interest to recover collateral.
HAY’s collateralization and borrowing were intended to be non-custodial and contract governed. HAY could be used in DEX liquidity mining, including PancakeSwap pools, and for transfer/payment. A planned dual-token model paired HAY with HELIO governance, intended for DAO votes over treasury, revenue and protocol direction.
Helio described safeguards including a mint cap below 5% of BNB market capitalization, emergency shutdown, audits, open-source contracts and a bug bounty. These are historical descriptions, not guarantees of present operation; current Lista branding centers on lisUSD.

Frequently asked questions
Is HAY the same as lisUSD?
They are in the same Helio-to-Lista lineage, but users should not assume old HAY is automatically interchangeable with lisUSD. Check official migration and contract instructions.
Is HAY strictly pegged to $1?
No. Helio described a broad $1 target with market-defined fluctuations and explicitly called HAY a destablecoin.
What collateral backed HAY?
The original design used BNB and liquid-staked BNB. Current Lista describes broader collateral including BNB, ETH, slisBNB and wBETH.
What happened when collateral fell?
Positions could be liquidated after LTV exceeded the protocol threshold.
Where can the token be checked?
The historical token can be inspected on BscScan at the address in the links object.
Where should current users verify the project?
Use Lista’s official website, GitHub organization and official migration announcements; treat legacy Helio pages and HAY pools as historical unless confirmed otherwise.
