Moo Deng

Khao Kheow Open Zoo announced the female pygmy hippo on 25 July 2024, saying she had been born on 10 July to Jona and Tony. At that moment she had no public name and no token.

The zoo opened a vote among Moo Deng, Moo Daeng and Moo Sap. More than 20,000 people participated, and on 20 August it announced Moo Deng as the winner. Keeper videos and playful captions then accelerated a story the zoo and its audience had already authored together.

On 10 September at 17:25:27 UTC, wallet Btxty83…gL3q paid for Pump.fun to create ED5nyyWEzpPPiWimP8vYm7sD7TD3LAt3Q3gRTWHzPJBY. The transaction issued 1 billion MOODENG and removed mint authority before the animal was three months old.

The same creation transaction also bought 51,095,238.095238 MOODENG for the creator wallet, about 5.11% of the initial supply. That shows an initial purchase alongside issuance; it does not identify the person behind the wallet or establish what that wallet holds today.

The current site supplies buying instructions, exchange logos and a PFP generator. It does not name the person behind the creation wallet or publish a company, allocation table, vesting ledger or product contract. Calling the launch “community-owned” would fill those gaps with a slogan.

At review, 989,937,178.585537 units remained. Mint and freeze authorities were null, so the token program cannot inflate the supply or freeze accounts through those roles.

That narrow closure is meaningful, but it says nothing about who controls wallets, social accounts, liquidity or marketing. It also gives no claim to the zoo, the animal’s likeness or revenue generated around her.

LBank’s September listing and later Binance and OKX notices all printed the full Solana mint. That repetition made one address legible across venues even though the project had no formal issuer directory.

Binance’s 75x perpetual contract was an exchange product layered over the meme. It widened speculation without adding staking, redemption or governance to the token itself. Listing access can also change by venue decision.

The project account said it symbolically adopted a hippo through WWF and later earmarked fees from its Moonshot referral link for Khao Kheow Zoo. The second claim concerned link-generated fees, not a tax on every token transfer. Reviewed records did not provide a total, remittance transaction or recipient confirmation.

Confirmed generosity around the animal came from distinct actors. Thai PBS attributed one small donation to an Ethereum-token group and another large gift to a different donor; the zoo later confirmed Vitalik Buterin’s 10 million THB sponsorship. None of those events proves that Solana MOODENG or its holders funded the zoo.

A separate Ethereum MOODENG launched with another address, supply and community; other chains carry more namesakes. They are not verified bridges merely because they use the same calf’s image.

A holder owns entries under one Solana mint. The reviewed materials promise no vote, cash flow, redemption, zoo access, donation claim, copyright or image licence. The asset is a fan token whose value depends on continued attention. Additional issuance is disabled, but holders can still burn tokens and reduce the remaining supply.
