What is Ontology Gas?
ONG pays Ontology transaction, smart-contract, and dApp costs in the network's dual-token model. ONT handles governance and staking, and staking ONT releases ONG rewards.
What problem does Ontology Gas solve?
After the October 28–31, 2025 vote, Ontology says 200 million ONG was burned and no more than 800 million can exist. CoinGecko's current record shows 800 million total but still lists one billion as maximum.
How does Ontology Gas work?
ONG continues releasing at one token per second over an extended schedule of roughly 19 years. It is consumed as gas and earned through ONT staking; it does not itself represent equity, redemption, or governance rights.
