Reviewed explanation

The contract, supply, governance, staking rebates, and live tBTC role are documented. The exact merger completion day was not locked in this review, and BitVM2 and an app-chain remain proposed rather than current features.

What is Threshold Network?

T is the Ethereum token formed from the NuCypher and Keep merger and used by Threshold Network. The current product focus is tBTC, a live threshold-cryptography bridge for tokenized Bitcoin.

What problem does Threshold Network solve?

Older materials describe inflationary staking, PRE and a broader DAO structure. Current documentation says supply is fully diluted, staking gives tBTC fee rebates without inflation, and Threshold Labs has handled product operations since February 2025.

How does Threshold Network work?

T holders can participate in governance and optionally stake for mint and redemption fee waivers or rebates. T does not redeem for BTC; tBTC minting and redemption are separate product operations, while BitVM2 and an app-chain remain plans.

Key facts

  • Canonical Ethereum contract: 0xcdf7…bee5.
  • Total supply is 11,155,000,000 T: 10 billion at merger plus 1.155 billion bootstrap issuance.
  • Threshold Labs has operated product development since February 2025 after TIP-098 and TIP-100.
