uWhat is United Stables?
United Stables (U), commonly styled $U, is a blockchain token designed to trade at approximately one U.S. dollar. United Stables Limited, a British Virgin Islands company, presents it as a liquidity layer spanning exchanges, DeFi, payments, institutional settlement and AI-enabled transactions. The official site describes the supply as backed by liquid reserves and says institutions can mint with fiat or trusted stablecoins.
That marketing description is not the same as a universal holder redemption right. Under the issuer's Terms, $U is not legal tender, a bank deposit, a security or government-backed instrument; the Terms also say holders have no direct claim on reserves and that only approved Mint Users can request direct minting or redemption.
What problem does United Stables solve?
United Stables positions $U against fragmented stablecoin liquidity: separate dollar tokens and markets can split liquidity across chains, exchanges and applications. Its proposed answer is a single settlement token that can accept fiat or selected stablecoins as minting collateral and be used across trading, DeFi, payments and institutional workflows.
Some use cases remain positioning or roadmap rather than independently demonstrated product functionality. The BNB Chain launch article specifically describes EIP-3009 gasless transfers and x402 delegated execution as future upgrades, so those should not be treated as live capabilities merely because AI payments appear in the product narrative.
How does United Stables work?
$U is an issuer-controlled, fiat-referenced token deployed on public blockchains. The official Terms say reserves may include cash, U.S. Treasury bills and/or selected fiat-referenced stablecoins, with composition and custody determined by United Stables; the official site describes 1:1 backing, but the Terms do not guarantee a fixed composition or uninterrupted liquidity. The Terms also say direct minting and redemption are available only to approved Mint Users who pass onboarding, KYC/KYB, AML/CTF and sanctions checks; secondary-market holders do not automatically receive a direct redemption right.
The Ethereum deployment uses a TransparentUpgradeableProxy and a verified StablecoinV2 implementation. The implementation ABI exposes mint, burn, freeze/unfreeze, pause/unpause, autoMint/autoBurn and ownership controls. Thus supply is operationally elastic rather than a disclosed fixed-cap issuance, and an administrator can materially affect token operation. Etherscan's implementation page states that no contract security audit has been submitted. Cross-chain support and migration are also issuer-controlled under the Terms.
Key facts
- United Stables Limited is identified in the Terms as a British Virgin Islands company (registration number 2193253).
- $U is intended to maintain approximately USD 1, but the Terms expressly disclaim any guarantee that it will equal USD 1 on secondary markets.
- The official product page describes a reserve model using fiat and trusted stablecoins; the Terms say reserves may include cash, U.S. Treasury bills and/or selected stablecoins and that composition may change.
- Direct minting and redemption are restricted to approved Mint Users; a secondary-market holder has no automatic direct redemption right with the issuer.
- The Ethereum token contract is 0xcE24439F2D9C6a2289F741120FE202248B666666 and uses 18 decimals.
- Etherscan identifies the Ethereum token as a TransparentUpgradeableProxy, so its implementation can be upgraded through proxy administration.
- Verified implementation functions include mint, burn, freeze/unfreeze, pause/unpause, autoMint/autoBurn and an auto-mint limit setter.
- The 2025-12-18 BNB Chain launch article describes EIP-3009 gasless transfers and x402 delegated execution as future upgrades, not as already delivered features.
- The issuer's Terms state that $U is not legal tender, a deposit, government-backed asset or deposit-insured instrument, and that tokens confer no ownership or profit interest in the reserves or issuer.

Frequently asked questions
Who issues United Stables (U)?
United Stables Limited issues $U. Its Terms identify the issuer as a British Virgin Islands company registered under number 2193253.
Can every U holder redeem directly with United Stables?
No. The Terms reserve direct minting and redemption for approved Mint Users who complete onboarding and compliance checks. A person who bought U on a secondary market has no automatic direct redemption right.
Does holding U give me ownership of the reserves or issuer profits?
No such right is established. The Terms expressly say that tokens give no direct or indirect right, title, interest or claim in the reserves, no ownership interest in United Stables or affiliates, and no right to participate in profits or returns.
What controls exist in the U token contract?
The verified StablecoinV2 implementation exposes owner-controlled minting and burning, freeze/unfreeze, pause/unpause, auto-mint/auto-burn and ownership-transfer functions. The Ethereum token is behind a TransparentUpgradeableProxy, adding implementation-upgrade risk.
Is U guaranteed to stay at exactly one dollar?
No. The token is intended to be approximately USD 1, but the Terms disclaim a guarantee of parity on exchanges or other secondary markets and warn that liquidity and price can vary.
Are AI payments already live?
They are part of the project's stated use-case direction, but the BNB Chain launch announcement describes EIP-3009 gasless transfers and x402 delegated execution as future upgrades. They should therefore be treated as planned in that announcement, not verified as delivered.
