Lil' Shrub

On 2026-08-30 at 18:20:35 UTC, Shivon Zilis posted a hedgehog with the caption “Lil’ Shrub in a shrub.” The post did not mention a token. At 18:39:01—18 minutes 26 seconds later—address 0x2451…7C08B deployed SHRUB on Robinhood Chain. At 18:45:32, a self-described fan account published the contract.

That sequence establishes the meme's source, not Zilis's participation in the project. The token borrowed a public caption and photograph; no reviewed source says she created, approved or endorsed SHRUB.

The verified constructor fixes one billion tokens at nine decimals and sends the whole supply to the token contract. enableTrading then creates a WETH pair and supplies the contract's balance as liquidity. There is no mint function or proxy upgrade path.

Robinhood Chain supplies the venue, not the issuer identity. It is an Ethereum Arbitrum Layer 2 using ETH for gas. Robinhood's separate canonical stock-token registry does not turn every token deployed on the chain into a Robinhood product.

By 2026-09-05, owner() returned the zero address. That disables addB, addBlocked and the other onlyOwner functions. The contract's one-billion transaction and wallet limits had also been removed.

But ownership is only one authority boundary. The constructor separately fixes the deployer as _taxWallet. When that address calls transferFrom, the code zeroes the value subtracted from allowance after moving the sender's balance. On September 4, the deployer used this path eight times to send 21,460.011829682 SHRUB from eight holders to 0xdead, then twice removed 20,028.124159016 SHRUB to new addresses. Each recipient sent its exact amount to the LP pair within four minutes. No positive Approval event was found for the affected holder/deployer pairs; for this contract, sending SHRUB to 0xdead did not make it unreachable.

The deployer sent all 0.999999999999999 LP minted to it at launch to 0xdead. On September 1, two additions totaling 354,544,240.882527525 SHRUB and 1.303270722460076607 ETH minted 277.561577247222827089 new LP to the deployer. By review, it held about 99.635% of all LP and 0xdead about 0.359%, so the site's undated “100% LP Burnt” label described the launch deposit but no longer the pair.

The same page labels Robinhood Chain while also placing the token on Solana and telling readers to acquire SOL and use Phantom, Solflare, Jupiter or Raydium. The verifiable market is the Robinhood Chain WETH pair. The page separately displays “Utility shipped 0.”
